"mountain" biking in Nebraska....whouda thunk it
There is mountain biking in Nebraska! Much to my delight I have discovered some good trails here in Omaha and I've heard that if I'm willing to drive I will be surprised at the amount of singe-track throughout the state. While there are no huge climbs a la Colorado, the terrain is very good and the trails well kept. Let's face it, at my present physical state I do not need to be trying to ride up Pike's Peak. I've decided that Nebraska mountain biking is perfect for my reentry into the sport. Watch out 24 Hours of Steamboat 2010....here I come!

gonna do a solo 24, or try for a team?
ReplyDeleteSki Omaha!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lot of work. Can you watch it on TV?
ReplyDeleteWhen I talk mountain biking in Colorado I envision the bike pedals as something I rest my feet on while the engine on my Harley powers me up to the mountain to a bar where I can replenish my fluids after the strenuous bout of sitting on my ass and steering without napping.
ReplyDeletebbl jr---kinda like my idea of camping, which is a motel room with a remote control for the t.v.
ReplyDeleteSo this is where Kate get's it from!
ReplyDeletere my previous comment, it should have been a "motel room WITHOUT a remote..." Just the thought of it made me mistype. And yes, BAJ, Kate gets it straight through her dad, no doubt.
ReplyDeleteI think the fact that my mom went on a 2 week rafting/camping trip in the upper penninsula alone (and didn't even ask if we wanted to as I can remember- because she knew our answer no doubt) indicates that my indoorsyness is not an Elze gene
ReplyDeleteno doubt about it. By the way, the activity of laying about watching t.v. (and I mean ANYTHING on t.v.---I even watch C-SPAN) while reading magazines or playing on the computer is called "Lawrencing around", in case you didn't know.
ReplyDeleteDespite operating at a competitive level of "Lawrencing around" on a near daily basis, I did not know that was its proper title
